Naturescapes had the pleasure of transforming a front garden bed for homeowners in Phoenixville. This is an example of a small redesign that allowed us to hone in on layout and design. No matter how big or small a job, we always strive to add more color to our client’s gardens and provide nutritious food sources for local wildlife.

Our first step was to remove the old shrubs from the front garden bed. These shrubs were not only dying but had not been providing any natural vegetation for local wildlife or insects. Our clients wanted to transform this brown garden bed into a beautiful habitat that – not only looked inviting – but promoted a thriving ecosystem of butterflies & bees.

The next step after we removed the shrubs was to level the garden bed. Because this area was small, it didn’t take long for our team to prep the area. We did this by leveling and spreading new mulch and soil that will promote healthy growth and longevity.

The final step was our favorite – the design. Because our clients wanted this to be a vibrant front garden bed, we decided to plant hardy greenery as the background. We then filled in the areas in the middle and the front with a colorful variety of plants, including:

  • Rudbeckia
  • Echinacea
  • Monarda
  • Coreopsis
  • Phlox
  • Solidago
  • Asclepias
  • Agastache
  • Nepeta
  • Yarrow
  • Sedum
  • Ageratum
  • and a few more!

The result was a beautiful transformation that appeals to neighbors and pollinators alike.
