This client wanted a sitting/patio area near an old growth Maple in her rear yard.
This was a simple operation of building up the gravel and screening base so as not to disturb the roots of the old tree.
These were collared by 1-2 man-sized coping rocks. Then irregular flagstone was brought in and custom cut to create a natural and attractive patio. An irregular flagstone walkway connects to the driveway for easy access.
Being “dry laid” roots and water will percolate through the patio and the tree roots will remain undamaged. Everyone is happy!
